Land at One Leisure, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire: An Archaeological Evaluation
The archaeological evaluation comprised 8 trial trenches, totalling 185m. These were distributed across the footprints of the proposed development in order to provide a 4% representative sample of the development area. A singular undated ditch terminus was excavated and recorded. the lower half of an inhumation burial was present towards the south of the development area in Trench 6. The inhumation burial was partially exposed and reburied. An inhumation burial was discovered but it was not possible due to site constraints to determine whether it was an isolated burial or part of a wider unknown cemetery. This should be a focus question going forward with any further work.
