DETERMINATION OF TECHNICAL AND OPERATIONAL PARAMETERS OF BUS ROUTES NO. 4 AND NO. 10 IN ZHYTOMYR

This article analyzes and calculates the technical and operational parameters of bus routes No. 4 and No. 10 in the city of Zhytomyr. According to the Procedure for the organization of transportation of passengers and luggage by road transport, a selective survey of passenger flows on selected routes was conducted. The survey of passenger flows was carried out by the tabular method. According to the results of the survey of passenger flows, the demand of the population for passenger transportation on the relevant routes was determined. The main technical and operational parameters of the bus route are the speed of passenger vehicles, transport work, vehicle cabin occupancy rate, average passenger travel distance, and passenger turnover rate per flight. It was determined that the operation of the bus route is affected by the unevenness of the demand for movement depending on the time period. The analysis of the above indicators was carried out and the correctness of the selected rolling stock and traffic schedule was determined. As a result of the evaluation of the technical and operational parameters of bus routes No. 4 and No. 10 in the city of Zhytomyr, it was determined that the selected rolling stock satisfies the demand for movement during peak hours, however, for work in between peak hours, proposals were made to change the rolling stock operating on the routes or changes in traffic intervals between peak hours. The proposed solutions will make it possible to reduce the cost of transportation and improve the environmental situation in the city by reducing the total fuel consumption and, therefore, the total emissions of exhaust gases during peak hours.
