The Impossible Crystal Is a Force: Quasicrystals as the Prime-5 Sector Made Visible in Matter
One axiom. One operation. Zero free parameters. In 1982 Dan Shechtman saw five-fold symmetry that crystallography had proved impossible; he was ridiculed (Pauling: ‘quasi-scientist’), then vindicated with the 2011 Nobel. This paper forces WHY nature realizes a forbidden symmetry: a quasicrystal is one of the two new forces, made visible in matter. The five-fold standing modes of the fold — {1/4, 1/2, 3/4} — are exactly the matter sector of the prime-5 Smith force. Crystallography is right that five-fold order cannot be periodic; the fold is right that the five-fold structure is a real sector, realized aperiodically. The forbidden symmetry is the prime-5 force showing its fingerprint, forty years before it was named. The same five-sector supplies dark matter: its lightest particle is the dark-matter Smithion. Machine-checked; reproduces from one command. A standalone result within the Smithian Fold Theory of Everything (SFTOE).
