3D Federated Software Architecture: An Enterprise System Platform with Inherent Data Exchange and Aggregation

The 3D Federated Software Architecture is an original enterprise platform designed from the ground up to solve the problem of governed data exchange across independent computing systems without custom integration code at any boundary. The platform comprises eleven causally dependent mechanisms operating on a common identity model: identity resolution through a bit-partitioned 64-bit primary key encoding system-of-origin and row identity; universal object addressing; metadata-driven audit capture and deterministic reversal; subscription-based package transport; record governance with authority delegation; metadata evolution and functional deployment; inherited core values enabling cross-organization interoperability; automated governance-correct temporal data warehouse generation; polymorphic finance; parameterized user interface; and automated system generation. A key differentiator is hierarchical row governance — different rows in the same table can be governed by different systems at different levels of an organizational hierarchy, enabling distributed ownership of shared reference data without a single designated owner of the entire dataset. The platform includes a system generation pipeline that automatically produces working federated systems — complete with database schema, menus, edit forms, browse forms, drill-down navigation, and full integration with core enterprise functionality — from metadata, without per-system application code authoring. Generated systems inherit all federated properties of the architecture automatically. The architecture is organized into reusable domain cores. The 3D Core provides universal enterprise structures. The Gov Core provides approximately 715 tables spanning the full scope of province/state government operations and is the first fully developed domain core. Additional cores for healthcare, education, oil and gas, and other sectors follow the same pattern. The 3D Application Framework is a JavaScript application framework that renders complete enterprise user interfaces entirely from parameter records at runtime, with no compiled application code per system. The architecture has been reduced to practice in a sixteen-system reference implementation constituting a complete province/state government environment, verified across all eleven mechanisms. Development has been recognized under the Canadian SR&ED program for multiple consecutive years. Abstract
