Geometric Emergence Theory (GET) A Metric-Affine Framework for Projective Charge, Contact Mass Generation, and Effective Geometric Response Channels
Abstract We have been trained to speak two languages when we describe fundamental physics. We allow geometry to speak in gravitation, where curvature is admitted as a physical actor, and we speak of separate gauge fields when we discuss the remaining sectors. This separation has been fruitful, and nothing here asks that its empirical success be denied. The question asked is narrower and more structural: can a single metric-affine medium carry the geometric roots of channels that later appear, in effective limits, as charge, dynamical mass, macroscopic gravity, axial/chiral response, and confinement-like nonlinear behavior? Geometric Emergence Theory (GET) answers this at the level of carriers, response channels, and falsifiability tests, not as a completed derivation of the Standard Model. It begins from a measured metric and an independent affine connection . A primordial seed is introduced not as a finished particle but as a localized source of energy-stress, spin, and hypermomentum. The medium then responds through curvature, torsion, nonmetricity, and affine distortion. Curvature gives the far gravitational reading. The projective trace of the affine distortion gives an Abelian phase channel, with and ; the old second-clock problem is structurally avoided, not empirically solved, by refusing to identify this phase connection with a physical length-memory connection. In the mass sector we prove a sign result: ordinary non-derivative Dirac bilinears contain no rank-three mixed-symmetry ``hook’’ source for trace-free tensor torsion, the minimal axial channel is repulsive in the scalar mass channel, and the non-minimal vector channel is the available attractive carrier, with gap condition . To this sign-controlled source we attach an explicit dynamical closure: a Hubbard–Stratonovich bosonization, a gap equation derived from an effective potential, and a proof that the non-trivial solution is a stable minimum. We upgrade two readings that were previously schematic — a confinement-like threshold obtained from a Landau–Ginzburg instability, and a structural mass written as a variational energy functional with a stable radius — and we record a phase reading of the emergent mass, , as a reading of mass after it appears rather than a derivation of its magnitude. GET does not derive the gauge group, the fine-structure constant, a hadronic mass scale, or charge quantization; it claims a geometric unity of carriers, not a unity of couplings. Keywords: metric-affine geometry; affine distortion; torsion; nonmetricity; projective trace; emergent charge; second-clock problem; NJL gap equation; Hubbard–Stratonovich; effective potential; Landau–Ginzburg threshold; structural mass; Fierz rearrangement; hypermomentum; hook representation; geometric response.
