Science in the Official Discourse of the SCO (2001–2026): An Analysis of the Evolution of Narratives and Meanings over 25 Years
This article is devoted to analyzing the evolution of science in the official discourse of the SCO over the past 25 years. The research methodology comprised general scientific and specialized research methods, with content analysis serving as the primary method. The materials for the study included, first and foremost, official SCO documents, as well as various scholarly publications on the topic. The author divides the SCO's existence into three stages, analyzing the concepts of “science” and “scientific and technical cooperation” within each. In conclusion, the author finds that over the past 25 years, science in the SCO discourse has evolved from peripheral mentions and formal declarations of intent to one of the most important pillars of interaction among the organization’s member states.
