Formalizing the Occupational Exposure Index (OEI): A Behavioral Engineering Framework for the Monitoring of Continuous Aversive Stimulation in Digital Forensic Examiners
Traditional models of occupational health in cybercrime forensics frequently rest on internalist constructs, such as secondary trauma, that are difficult to measure continuously and of limited use for systems engineering. This theoretical and methodological preprint formalizes the Occupational Exposure Index (OEI), a continuous environmental variable designed to synthesize severity, duration, and rate of contact in high aversive-load occupational contexts, and presents the architecture of the SUPREME V4 system.Grounded in Behavior Analysis, the model conceives exposure load as a variable with a motivational function analogous to an Establishing Operation, capable of modulating the value of negative reinforcement and influencing the probability of escape and avoidance responses, observable through behavioral telemetry such as latency and response rate. The architecture integrates three analytic axes: environmental load (OEI), operant telemetry, and verbal behavior through psychometric instruments. This integration enables the identification of functional divergence between behavioral measures and self-report at pre-symptomatic levels. This preprint establishes the ontological, mathematical, and architectural foundations of the model and declares provisional parameters for future empirical calibration. It is deposited to establish public authorship and priority for the theoretical-methodological formulation of the OEI/SUPREME V4 framework.
