CON as a State of Coordinated Integrity

This paper introduces CON as a new conceptual construct within the framework of Vitology as an interdisciplinary research program centered on the concept of system viability. CON is understood as a state of coordinated systemic integrity that arises when the fundamental mechanisms of viability operate coherently as an integrated whole. Unlike approaches that describe coordination primarily as a process of interaction among system components, Vitology distinguishes CON as a specific systemic state characterized by harmony, coordination, feedback, self-regulation, regeneration, adaptation, integration, hierarchy, and emergent properties acting together. The paper analyzes the relationship between CON and existing scientific approaches, systems theory, cybernetics, complexity science, synergetics, resilience studies, and complex adaptive systems research. Particular attention is devoted to the role of CON as an integrative state that supports the preservation, regeneration, adaptation, and continuous increase of system viability. The universality of CON across physical, chemical, biological, ecological, social, organizational, technical, and artificial systems is also discussed, demonstrating its significance as a fundamental concept within the theoretical framework of Vitology. Keywords Vitology, CON, coordinated systemic integrity, system viability, harmony, coordination, feedback, self-regulation, regeneration, adaptation, integration, hierarchy, emergent properties, systems theory, cybernetics, complexity science, synergetics, resilience, complex adaptive systems.
