Observer Non-Exhaustibility: A Formal Synthesis and Classification of Observer Architectures

The problem of whether an observer can fully exhaust itself from within lies at the intersection of ancient reflection on self-knowledge and modern work on self-reference, incompleteness, semantic remainder, and awareness. This paper provides a machine-checked formal synthesis and classification of observer architectures in Lean 4. Three blocked families are identified and proved: any observer architecture attempting complete internal self-exhaustion encounters structural obstructions. A positive non-collapsing residual architecture is identified from the awareness arc, providing the constructive counterpart. The classification theorem organizes all observer architectures into a five-category taxonomy with machine-verified boundary conditions.
