Service Expatriates’ Perspective Toward Discrimination and How it Damages Job Resources
Underpinned by Social Identity Theory (SIT) and Social Exchange Theory (SET), this study aims to delve into the factors that potentially diminish and weaken the level of vital resources for service job staff, namely teamwork, coworker trust, and coworker support. Data was collected from full-time expatriates working in hotels in North Cyprus. The results reveal that perceived organizational discrimination affects workplace gossip and mockery, resulting in decreased levels of teamwork, coworker trust, and coworker support among staff. According to the result, both workplace gossip and mockery mediate the relation between perceived organizational discrimination and the mentioned job resources.
