HEMPOXIES 71: Optimized Performance Protocol
Hempoxies 71 is a proposed multi-scale, predominantly hemp-derived vitrimer composite intended to maximize specific stiffness, interlaminar shear strength, and through-thickness electrical connectivity while retaining the thermal reprocessability characteristic of transesterification vitrimers. The design pairs a hempseed-oil glycidyl-ester epoxy of the Zila Hempoxy class with a bio-based furan reactive diluent (furfuryl glycidyl ether, FGE) to enable high chopped-fiber loading, and a hierarchical carbon reinforcement set — hemp short carbon fiber, functionalized hemp biochar, and hemp-derived carbon nanosheets (provisionally designated Mitlinite within the Landry Framework) — intended to arrest cracks and distribute stress across length scales. The target bio-derived content is >= 88 wt% (ASTM D6866). This document defines the constituent rationale, surface-functionalization steps, a processing SOP, a candidate cure cycle, the synergy hypotheses, projected performance envelopes with explicit modeling caveats, quality-control checkpoints, an end-of-life pathway, health-and-safety guidance, and a validation roadmap.
