Theoretical Model for Gradual Elimination of HIV Latent Reservoirs Through Fractionated Activation and Controlled Immune Clearance

ABSTRACT This article presents a theoretical model for the gradual elimination of HIV latent reservoirs, based on fractionated activation of infected cells and controlled immune clearance. Unlike approaches that trigger simultaneous activation of large numbers of latent cells — which can lead to intense systemic inflammation — the strategy described here proposes successive cycles of micro‑activation followed by intervals of immune recovery. Each cycle exposes only a fraction of cells carrying integrated viral DNA, allowing their progressive elimination without inflammatory overload. The model can be complemented by bispecific molecules capable of directing the immune response exclusively toward cells that express viral proteins after activation. This framework represents an incremental, physiologically compatible, and potentially safer approach for the continuous reduction of latent reservoirs. The concept is released here as a public‑domain contribution for scientific and humanitarian use.
