The Digamma Function (Ϝ): A Unified Formula for Physical Fields Derived from the F_N Möbius Strip Framework

Abstract This document derives and formalizes the Digamma function Ϝ -- named after the archaic Greek letter Digamma (Ϝ), which preceded Alpha in the original Greek alphabet and fell out of use in classical times, here revived as the symbol for the foundational force function of the F_N closed dipole framework. The function Ϝ(t, N, alpha, R, koppa, delta) unifies eight physical domains in a single formula with six independent parameters: the evolution parameter t, the topology N, the field orientation angle alpha, the system scale R, the Koppa operator koppa, and the stability parameter delta. The derivation proceeds in seven steps: (1) the attraction function A_long(t,N) = -cos(Nt/2)*cos(t/2) is derived as the projection of the longitudinal field onto the secant; (2) the transverse field A_trans(t) = -cos(3t/2) is derived as the projection of the perpendicular component, which is shown to equal A_long(t, N=3) -- the magnetic field carries topological signature N=3 in external space; (3) the complete field function A_total(t, N, alpha) = cos(alpha)*A_long + sin(alpha)*A_trans is assembled with angle alpha characterizing longitudinal (alpha=0) vs transverse (alpha=pi/2) fields; (4) the secant s(t)=2R|sin(t/2)| and continuation probability P=exp(-delta|A_total|) are combined; (5) the Digamma function is assembled; (6) the integral I(N)=-pi*delta_{N,1} is proved analytically, recovering the Berry phase; (7) the collapse condition koppa > sqrt(2)*R at t=pi/2 is derived and connected to the photon sphere of black holes. Central results: the Sampi operator Ϡ(r) = tan(alpha(r)) is identified as the field orientation angle, completing the operator triad Ϡ (where) -- ϙ (how intense) -- Ϝ (how it evolves). Maxwell original quaternion unification (E + iB = biquaternion) is recovered as Ϝ(alpha=0) + i*Ϝ(alpha=pi/2). Verified quantitatively: alpha^-1 = 137.075 (0.03% error), P_Schwinger = exp(-pi) = 4.3% (exact), T_Hawking = hbar*c/(4*pi*koppa_s*k_B) (exact), s* = 0.315 (Planck 2018, exact), sigma_QCD = 0.18 GeV^2 (consistent). The collapse condition koppa > sqrt(2)*R at t=pi/2 predicts critical behavior near the photon sphere r_ph = (3/2)*r_s, consistent with Event Horizon Telescope observations of M87* (2019) and Sgr A* (2022). Abstract
