A Response to: “Letter to the Editor Regarding ‘Anchored Matching-Adjusted Indirect Comparison of the Long-Term Maintenance of Efficacy of Tralokinumab and Lebrikizumab in Patients with Moderate-to-Severe Atopic Dermatitis’”
to clarify our rationale to perform an anchored indirect comparison.Rand et al. raised concerns regarding the comparability of week 16 responders between both trials [2].However, both the ECZTRA 1 and ECZ-TRA 2 and the ADvocate 1 and ADvocate 2 studies compared week 52 efficacy among patients with a week 16 response defined as achieving Investigator's Global Assessment (IGA) 0/1 and/ or Eczema 75% reduction in Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI-75).Therefore, these studies are comparable in this regard.Differences in clinical trials designs that disadvantaged tralokinumab may explain week 16 response results. For example, patients in ECZTRA 1 and ECZTRA 2 had a 2-week washout of topical medications (topical corticosteroids, topical
