Strategic Human Resource Management at Coca-Cola: Aligning People with Global Strategy
This paper examines how Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) supports Coca-Cola's global business strategy. It analyses the company's workforce planning, talent management, recruitment, performance management, and leadership development practices. Drawing on academic literature and case study evidence, the article argues that Coca-Cola's blended HR approach — combining centralised strategic direction with decentralised local implementation — offers a practical model for other global organisations. The article also discusses contemporary challenges such as remote work, artificial intelligence, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
