Lorentzian Curve Fitting Combined with DPP-BOTDA for Localized Heating Detection in Fiber-Optic Lines Exceeding 500 km with Remote Ends

This manuscript is an extended English adaptation of a previously published Russian conference abstract and is intended to improve accessibility for the international research community. In this paper, the detection of a heating event at the far end of a 500-km fiber line is reported, using DPP-BOTDA, LCF and probabilistic heating detection algorithm.
