Research on the relationship between career satisfaction, job performance and work engagement variables
This study aims to examine the relationships among career satisfaction, job performance, and work engagement, which are considered effective for organisational success. In this study, which employed quantitative research methods, data were collected via a survey. Snowball sampling, a non-random sampling method, was used to obtain the data. The research data was obtained online from 276 volunteer bank employees in Muğla. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS 27 and IBM AMOS 24; confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis were performed. The findings of the study indicate that career satisfaction levels of employees have a positive and significant association with job performance. Similarly, it was found that employees' career satisfaction levels are positively and significantly correlated with all dimensions of work engagement. Finally, it has been found that the vigour and absorption dimensions are positively and significantly correlated with job performance. It has been found that the dedication dimension of work engagement does not correlate significantly with job performance. This study contributes to the literature from a theoretical perspective by examining the relationships among career satisfaction, job performance and work engagement within the frameworks of career construction theory, the job demands-resources model and social exchange theory. This study, conducted among bank employees, also offers practical insights for managers and employees in the banking sector.
