Carbidopa/levodopa products may induce vitamin B6 deficiency and seizures

A new warning has been added to the labeling of carbidopa/levodopa products regarding the risk of vitamin B6 deficiency–associated seizures. These seizures may not respond to antiepileptic drug therapy. The revised labeling recommends assessment of vitamin B6 levels prior to and throughout therapy with carbidopa/levodopa.
