Human-AI Educational Design for the AI Era: A Conceptual Model for Unit Mapping and an AI-Enabled Learning Taxonomy
This conceptual working paper proposes an original approach to unit-level educational design in the AI era. It introduces a discipline and subject-level mapping framework that aligns learning outcomes, content, learning activities and assessment with the changing nature of professional practice under AI integration. The paper also proposes an expanded Human-AI Learning Taxonomy to support curriculum design beyond conventional cognitive classifications. The model is informed by existing literature, established educational design frameworks, emerging AI assessment debates, and the author’s own conceptual analysis, professional experience and reflective theorisation. I would welcome further comments and collaboration on this proposal.
