The Smart Showcase Theory: An Institutional Framework for Preemptive Choice and Collective Guidance of Intelligent Tools Evolution in the Age of Civilizational Transition
Abstract The contemporary world is in the midst of a transition from the digital age to the age of intelligence. In this transition, intelligent tools enter different layers of human lifeworld through coercive and manipulative paths, before being subjected to conscious human choice. Technology developers, without regard to cultural context, indigenous needs, and human dignity, unilaterally determine the path of tool evolution and place humans in the position of passive consumers. This situation has created a fundamental gap between "tool imposition" and "conscious choice" which is not a technical defect but a civilizational crisis. The Smart Showcase Theory has been formulated in response to this crisis and offers a preemptive institutional framework for conscious choice and collective guidance of intelligent tools evolution. This theory is based on five pillars (display of possible existences, wise will, conscious choice and collective voting, collective judgment and production licensing, and optimal use and ex-post elevation). The present article, utilizing a mixed method (qualitative-design) including systematic literature review, comparative analysis, and theory-based design, explains the necessity, objectives, application, and meta-theoretical considerations of this theory. The findings show that the Smart Showcase, through institutionalizing transparency, collective participation, institutional judgment, and continuous elevation, elevates humans from passive consumers to architects of their own tools' evolutionary path. The article's conclusion emphasizes that the Smart Showcase is not a utopian idea but an operational structure based on wise will and collective governance that can transform the age of tool imposition into the age of wise choice at global, regional, and local levels.
