Black Hole Information Retention from Exponential Retention Theory
This paper introduces Exponential Retention Theory, a framework derived from the principle that the probability a physical system retains its configuration is exponential. For black holes, the retention parameter is identified with the Bekenstein‑Hawking entropy, resolving the information paradox by showing that information loss is exponentially suppressed , for astrophysical black holes, effectively zero. The same principle predicts that a Planck‑mass black hole tunnels into a baby universe with probability about one in 285,000, quantifies cosmic censorship as an exponentially suppressed probability, and explains the arrow of time as the retention of a low‑entropy initial condition. All results follow from the exponential retention law and standard black hole thermodynamics, requiring no modifications to general relativity or quantum mechanics.
