Nickel chromium oxide nanocomposite for simultaneous determination of 4-acetamidophenol and 4-aminophenol
The present study specifies voltametric investigations for detecting 4-acetamidophenol (4-AC) and 4-aminophenol (4-AP) using a transition metal oxide nanocomposite. Nickel chromium oxide nanocomposite (NiCrONC) is synthesized via the combustion method. The synthesised nanocomposite is confirmed by several characterizations. L -valine modified nickel chromium oxide nanocomposite glassy carbon electrode (VM-NiCrONC-GCE) is fabricated by drop-casting method using carbon powder, and the prepared nanocomposite and the surface are polymerized by L -valine using Cyclic voltammetry (CV). The interaction between the surface of the electrode and the polymerized layer on the fabricated electrode enhances conductivity, improves electrocatalytic performance, increases the active surface area, and facilitates faster electron and proton transfer. The electrochemical redox behaviour of VM-NiCrONC-GCE is primarily controlled by diffusion in 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution (PBS) of pH 6.2, and a 0.1 V/s scan rate for electrochemical investigations using CV, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV). The fabricated electrode surface exhibits better reproducibility, selectivity, repeatability, and stability, enabling the detection of 4-AC and 4-AP at low detection limits(LOD) of 0.011, 0.012 μM by CV, 0.013, 0.013 μM by LSV, and 0.011, 0.017 μM by DPV, and the limit of quantification (LOQ) are 0.037, 0.042 μM by CV, 0.045, 0.046 μM by LSV, and 0.036, 0.052 μM by DPV. This capability supports their precise and sensitive determination, which is vital for pharmaceutical quality control and environmental monitoring.
