Numerical Investigation of the Dynamic Behavior of HPFRCC-Reinforced Precast Concrete Panel Joints

In this study, the behavior of high-performance fiber-reinforced cement composite (HPFRCC)-strengthened precast concrete panel joints was investigated under repeated loading using three-dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis. Joint width and shape were considered the main variables, and structural performance was evaluated in terms of stiffness retention, energy absorption capacity, damage distribution, and predicted fatigue life. The results showed that both joint width and shape influenced stress redistribution and damage propagation in the joint region. In particular, the shape-modified models exhibited lower stress ranges and longer predicted fatigue lives than the reference model. These findings indicate that joint width and shape are important parameters influencing the long-term performance of HPFRCC-strengthened precast concrete panel joints under repeated loading.
