DIFFERENCE INFORMATION THEORY v1.0 EN

DESCRIPTION Difference Information Theory v1.0 EN is the first specialized extension of Formal Differentics, exploring the relationship between difference and information. The document proposes that information is not a primitive entity but emerges whenever a difference becomes identifiable within a system. Building upon the axioms and formal framework established in Axiomatic Foundations of Differentics v1.0 EN and Formal Differentics v1.0 EN, this work introduces the foundational principles of Difference Information Theory, including identified difference, difference entropy, difference density, difference complexity, and the DIXOR operator as a minimal informational event. The theory argues that distinction, measurement, perception, memory, learning, and knowledge formation all depend upon the existence and identification of differences. Information is therefore interpreted as structured and observable difference rather than an independent fundamental phenomenon. This document represents the first volume of the Formal Differentics Series and establishes the informational branch of Differentics as a framework applicable to information theory, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, communication systems, complex systems, and the study of knowledge formation.
