Numbering-Up Flow Electroreduction of α,β-Unsaturated Carbonyls from Gram to Pilot-Relevant Scale

High Resolution Image Download MS PowerPoint Slide A scalable flow electrochemical platform achieves up to 9.2 g/h productivity at a 100 g scale using an innovative three-electrode reactor design. Dual-sided cathodes enable 16 parallel channels across eight modules, maintaining 1 min residence time without reoptimization. The methodology processes diverse α,β-unsaturated carbonyl substrates (chalcones, heterocyclic enones, esters, ketones, carboxylic acids), explored 18 examples with broad functional group tolerance. The average productivity improvement across the substrates is 75-fold than the batch method with consistent performance from gram to pilot scale, establishing a cost-effective pathway for the electrochemical reduction reaction.
