Session 24. Oral Presentation for: The untapped potential of the Woodada Formation of the Northern Perth Basin

Presented on 21 May 2026: Session 24 The Woodada Formation has historically been overlooked as a viable reservoir interval in the onshore Perth Basin. However, recent petrological and log-based analyses indicate that the formation may host a previously unrecognised chlorite-preserved reservoir play, analogous to the Kingia Sandstone that underpins the West Erregulla gas discovery. This emerging interpretation warrants a reassessment of the Woodada Formation’s prospectivity, particularly in undrilled areas where trap and reservoir preservation coincide. Abstract
