[*] Possibility: Iris × Janus - An Honest Energy-Chain Audit Between Two Published Architectures
This is not a proof. It is a state. Project Iris [3] places a graphene monolayer at the Gd2O3/GaN interface, enhancing Rashba spinorbit coupling by 4.41× and already demonstrating a connection to Project Ouroboros’s magnetisation switching. Project Janus [2] stores memory through Pr3+ ⇌ Pr4+ ionic migration, requiring an Arrhenius activation energy of 1.2 eV. This paper asks the next, unasked question: can the spin current Iris generates also drive Janus’s ionic switching? We trace the full energy chain using only published, cross-checked numbers from both papers. At the level of raw energy budget, the chain shows no obstruction: Iris’s enhanced switching energy (∼ 1.16 × 10−16 J) exceeds Janus’s activation energy (1.92 × 10−19 J) by a comfortable margin, and the spin current’s transit through the 25 nm GaN channel survives at 87–92% using measured GaN spin diffusion lengths from independent literature (175–300 nm). The chain breaks at exactly one point: the spin-to-charge conversion efficiency (spin Hall angle, θSH) at this specific graphene/GaN interface has never been measured or calculated, in this series or, as far as we have found, in the literature. We show, explicitly, why this number cannot be obtained analytically from the parameters this series has published, and why only first-principles (DFT) calculation can resolve it. We do not perform that calculation here. We record the chain as far as it honestly goes, and we leave the remaining gap exactly where it is: open, specific, and waiting for whoever has the tool to close it.
