Regional Risk Assessment of Flood Disasters on Trunk Highways in Liaoning Province
Due to the complex environmental conditions, different types of highway disasters frequently occur in Liaoning Province. Their number has continued to increase over the years and has caused severe losses, especially flood disasters along mountainous rivers. Therefore, research on the risk assessment of highway disasters plays an important role in disaster prevention and mitigation. The evaluation model was established based on the superposition theory of flood disaster impact factors in trunk highway regions. According to the formation mechanism and influencing factors of highway flood disasters, the major influencing factors were selected, including rainstorms, terrain slope, soil type, vegetation coverage, regional river density, climatic conditions, and watershed underlying surface conditions. The regional risk assessment of highway flood disasters in Liaoning Province was established using Geographic Information System (GIS), and the hazard index was divided into five grades according to the regional characteristics of highway flood disasters. By comprehensively considering factors such as previous investment and highway grade, the regional risk assessment of trunk highway flood disasters was finally completed. The evaluation results show that the risk assessment results are consistent with the actual situation.
