Restart of Stalled Healing in Chronic Lateral Forearm Tendon Pain Following Sports Injury

A one-year history of chronic right lateral forearm tendon pain following tennis injury was resolved intwo manual pressure sessions targeting a residual tender point near the elbow. The clinicalcourse—including the triphasic temporal response after the first session, the localised nature ofresidual sensitivity, the absence of emotional distress in residual aching, and the within-subjectlaterality control—is consistent with the Stalled Healing Hypothesis. The case illustrates a two-phase recovery pattern: primary restart achieving substantial relief, followed by functional refinement addressing residual high-load sensitivity. This pattern may beclinically relevant for athletes requiring complete restoration of high-load functional capacity.Further prospective documentation of similar cases, with objective outcome measures includingultrasound elastography and infrared thermography, would strengthen the evidence base for thestalled healing framework in sports-related chronic tendon pain.
