Bridging the NbS Financing Fap: A landscape-based analysis

The poster presents the main evidence from Sections 3 and 4 of the I4N Deliverable 3.3 (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13997980) on the NbS financing landscape (financing sources, instruments, scale, performance reporting, and drivers and barriers to implementation and financing). The study uses a mixed-methods approach combining a systematic literature review and 15 semi-structured interviews with public practitioners involved in NbS projects. The systematic literature review covers the period 1998–2023 and spans six geographical regions of implementation, classified as Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Africa, and Oceania according to the UN M49 standard, as well as six NbS landscapes (coastal, agriculture, freshwater, forest, urban, and mountain). The semi-structured interviews include 15 interviews with 17 interviewees across 11 European countries (Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Austria, Croatia, Germany, Denmark, the UK, Poland, and Norway), covering all six NbS landscape types. The data used to visualise the results of the systematic literature review are drawn from the “NbS Investment Dataset” (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19000669).
