Electrochemically Enabled Sulfenylation of Imidazo[1,2- a ]pyridines Using Sodium Sulfinates

An electrochemical method for the C–H sulfenylation of imidazo[1,2- a ]pyridines has been developed, employing sodium sulfinates as odorless sulfenylation reagents. This approach provides efficient access to a range of C-3-sulfenated imidazo[1,2- a ]pyridines in moderate to good yields. The reaction proceeds smoothly under electrochemical conditions without the need for external chemical oxidants and exhibits a broad substrate scope, which offers a promising new strategy for C–S bond formation using odorless sulfenylation reagents.
