Tinu's-QPU: A Complete Base-4 Processor Architecture Blueprint

We present Tinu's-QPU, a complete, open-source architectural specification for a Base-4 (Quaternary) Processing Unit designed from first principles by an independent researcher. The specification covers every layer of the computing stack: A three-primitive gate basis {MIN, MAX, INV} that is functionally complete for quaternary logic A Quaternary Half-Adder and Full-Adder derived from modular Z4 arithmetic An 8-Quat Instruction Set Architecture (ISA) with 16 native instructions, featuring a novel single-Quat comparison flag (QF_CMP) that collapses four comparison outcomes into one digit A three-level cache hierarchy (L1/L2/L3) designed on power-of-4 boundaries to eliminate bit-level field splicing A four-level hardware privilege model (Kernel, Driver, User, Sandbox) that utilises all four Quat states for hardware-enforced security A binary compatibility layer (QBT) enabling legacy x86-64 and ARM64 executables to run on native Quaternary hardware The paper formally proves three mathematical results: (1) binary carry invariance in a Quaternary adder, (2) mutual carry exclusion in Full-Adder composition, and (3) correctness of the Quaternary Carry-Lookahead Adder (CLA). The full specification is available as an open-source repository under GPLv3.
