Malignant Cerebral Edema Following Cranioplasty in Long-Standing Sunken Bone Flap: Case Report
Abstract Sunken Bone Syndrome is a very rare complication of autologous bone cranioplasty. Malignant cerebral edema is another rare complication of cranioplasty. We hereby report, to the best of our knowledge, the first case of a patient who survived and recovered to pre-op condition after developing both of these rare complications.
