The Geometry of Half

This study explores the geometric significance of ‘the half’ (Θ0 = 1/2) within the dissipative framework derived from the generator ∆. While prior research established that the regularity hierarchy Θk = k + 1/2 is determined from the generator ∆ in a scale-invariant manner, the exact geometric role that the value of ‘the half’ itself plays within the internal structure has remained an open question. To address this, we embed the trace dynamics y(t) = Tr(Ct) into a three-dimensional space r(t) = (x(t), y(t), t) and apply Frenet–Serret geometry. We prove that the torsion vanishing condition for the dissipation rate R(t) = −y′(t)/y(t) reduces to the following differential structure: τ = 0 ⇐⇒ R′(R′ + R2) = RR′′ Furthermore, by introducing a cumulant expansion of the exponentially tilted mode distribution, we transform this torsion condition into a variance-skewness relation, which ultimately reduces to a structural comparison between RR′′ and (R′)^2. Prior studies have already established the dynamical properties R(t) > 2 and R(∞) = 2. This paper confirms that the parallel geometric patterns τ(t) 6= 0 and τ(∞) = 0 are robustly supported numerically across all tested (α, t) domains, framing this finding as a formal mathematical conjecture. We also show that these two patterns are partially rooted in a common quantity, the variance of the mode distribution, κ2(t) = Vart[n2]. Finally, we prove that in the asymptotic limit reaching R(∞) = 2Θ0, the temporal and spatial directions of the Frenet–Serret frame become mutually orthogonal and decouple. This geometric behavior suggests that ‘the half’ is not an attainable internal ‘state’ within the system, but rather an internally unreachable ‘boundary’ that enables the fundamental differentiation of space and time.
