Maximizing your learning potential: exploring motivation, self-directed learning, and smart media utilization in the digital age
This study sought to explore the interaction between motivation and self-directed learning in the digital age and the use of smart media, where technology can play a role in promoting learning. As a research method, 88 out of 296 existing literatures on learning motivation and maximizing learning effects through smart media use were systematically reviewed. The results showed that the use of smart media was a key factor in promoting self-directed learning as learners used various digital tools to support learning activities. In conclusion, it was found that learning potential was maximized through the use of a convergent learning method that combines learning motivation, autonomous learning design of learners participating in self-directed learning activities, and active intervention in the teacher’s media use. In addition, this study emphasized the need for educators and learners to understand and utilize the potential of smart media to support and improve the learning process and suggests quantitative research in this regard in future research.
