BAJA SEED METHODOLOGY a for Territorial Agricultural Value Recovery, Metabolic Footprint Assessment and Territorial Metabolic Capital Generation

Abstract Agricultural systems generate substantial biological and economic value; however, a significant proportion of this value remains uncaptured by producing territories and is frequently transferred to downstream stages of processing, branding, distribution, and commercialization. Simultaneously, the growing global burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) highlights an increasing disconnect between agricultural production, metabolic health, and territorial resilience. This paper introduces the Baja Seed™ Methodology, a seven-pillar framework designed to recover hidden agricultural value and transform high-biological-potential biomass into verifiable premium assets capable of generating economic value, metabolic value, and territorial resilience simultaneously. The proposed framework integrates regenerative controlled production, optimal harvest timing, biological value preservation, quality standardization, metabolic functionality assessment through the Metabolic Footprint (MFx), Territorial Metabolic Capital generation (TMC), and a future-oriented impact infrastructure capable of supporting resilience-oriented governance and financing mechanisms. A central contribution of this work is the introduction of Territorial Agricultural Value Recovery (TAVR), a conceptual process through which agricultural commodities may evolve into functional, measurable, and territorially relevant assets. The methodology further explores the concepts of Metabolic Footprint (MFx) and Territorial Metabolic Capital (TMC) as potential tools for documenting resilience at both individual and community scales. Unlike conventional agricultural models that primarily reward productivity and volume, the Baja Seed™ framework proposes a value architecture in which biological functionality, metabolic resilience, and territorial development become interconnected dimensions of value creation. The methodology therefore seeks to establish a foundation for future research at the intersection of functional agriculture, preventive health, resilience economics, territorial development, and impact finance. While the framework remains subject to future biological, metabolic, actuarial, and financial validation, it provides an initial conceptual pathway for exploring how measurable resilience may emerge as a new category of territorial value. Abstract
