Full-Thickness Continuous Closure of Coronal Incisions With a Single Absorbable Suture in Maxillofacial Fractures

The scalp tissue is the most vascularized tissue on the body surface. Bleeding from coronal incisions of the scalp is usually profuse and difficult to control. Closure of scalp wounds is typically performed using layered suturing, which has the advantage of secure and stable closure. However, layered suturing is time-consuming and prolongs bleeding time. This article proposes and validates the feasibility of rapid full-thickness continuous scalp closure using a single absorbable suture (2-0 absorbable suture with a round needle). This technique is safe, effective, and enables rapid wound closure with reduced bleeding, making it worthy of clinical promotion.
