The Four Implicit Axioms of Static Life Cycle Assessment and Their Structural Failure in Non-Linear Environmental Systems
Static life cycle assessment treats a waste as a fixed, classified unit. This paper names the four implicit axioms underlying that practice (point estimation, linear characterization, path independence, categorical invariance), gives a taxonomy of eight failure modes, and proves four theorems: a finite prediction horizon (Lorenz), bimodal statistics near a fold, the impossibility of a single characterization factor under non-monotonic dose-response, and the predictive blindness of a fixed threshold near a bifurcation. This record contains both the French and the English version (PDF). Theory article of the program 'Waste as dynamical systems'.(Titre français / French title : Les quatre axiomes implicites de l'ACV statique et leur échec structurel dans les systèmes environnementaux non linéaires)
