The Recursive Meaning Cycle: A Pentafolium
The Recursive Meaning Cycle: A Pentafolium is a five-part philosophical exploration of meaning, relation, awareness, persistence, and semantic evolution. Structured as five interconnected "leaves," the work develops a relational framework in which meaning becomes manifest through relation, significance emerges through resonance and recognition, persistence appears as semantic inertia, and transformation unfolds through semantic evolution. The framework examines how meanings remain recognizable across interruption, delay, and change, and how new meanings emerge from existing semantic structures. The Pentafolium is neither a formal theory nor a historical survey. It is an exploratory map of a semantic landscape, intended to generate questions rather than provide final answers. Drawing from philosophy, phenomenology, information theory, systems thinking, and human-AI dialogue, it proposes a vocabulary for investigating the dynamics of manifestation, recognition, persistence, and transformation. The volume consists of five leaves: Relation and Manifestation Awareness as Relation? Resonance and Recognition Semantic Inertia Semantic Evolution Together, these form a recursive meaning cycle in which manifestation leads to participation, participation to significance, significance to persistence, persistence to evolution, and evolution back to manifestation in transformed form. This work is offered as a contribution to ongoing conversations in philosophy of meaning, relational ontology, phenomenology, philosophy of information, and human-AI relations.
