Autonomous Fission Homeostasis via Physical Intelligence: Mitigating High-Entropy Disturbances in Small Modular Reactors
This paper presents the application of the Autonomous Universal Resonance Architecture (AURA) to the domain of nuclear fission control in Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). Building upon the foundational Resonance Time Equation (Hyun, 2026), we introduce "Informational Homeostasis" as a superior alternative to traditional reactive digital MMIS (PID-based) logic. Using high-fidelity simulations based on the ENDF/B-VIII.0 standard nuclear library and the SciPy Radau solver, we demonstrate that Physical Intelligence (PI) can synchronize with nuclear harmonics to suppress prompt-critical excursions with unprecedented precision. The experimental results reveal a 99.32% reduction in peak power overshoot and a near-total elimination of mechanical chattering (~100.00% reduction in cumulative actuator travel) compared to optimized digital baselines. These findings confirm that the AURA architecture is a versatile platform capable of governing complex, non-linear physical manifolds beyond gravitational fields. This study provides a computable roadmap for autonomous, zero-scram reactor operation, ensuring maximum safety and mechanical longevity in next-generation energy systems.
