Spacetime Substantivalism 46: The Elastic Nature of the Universe Confirmed by Gravitational Waves — From Hooke's Law to Spacetime Lattice Dynamics _ —-From Geometric Phenomenology of Spacetime to Substantial Constitutive Theory of Spacetime Abstract: Modern physics has long been confined to the "geometric phenomenology" that interprets gravitational phenomena as the curvature of spacetime. While this paradigm has achieved remarkable predictive accuracy, it leaves a fundamental logical void regarding the physical essence: what is the mechanism behind curvature? This study formally proposes the "Spacetime Constitutive Theory" based on the physical properties revealed by gravitational wave observations. We prove that spacetime is not a geometric manifold devoid of physical properties, but a substantial elastic medium composed of Planck-scale primitives with defined constitutive parameters. The field equations of General Relativity are essentially the linear elastic constitutive equations (Hooke’s Law) of this substantial medium, where geometric non-linearity serves merely as the macroscopic stress-strain manifestation of the medium under load. We resolve the nature of "Dark Matter" through constitutive non-linear mechanisms (strain hardening effects) and clarify the essence of black hole singularities (topological phase transitions of the lattice). Furthermore, we predict structural dispersion effects in high-energy gravitational wave propagation. This research marks a formal shift in physics from phenomenological geometric description to precision engineering dynamics based on material constitution.
