Golden Dragon reptile farm: breeding the yellow-headed water monitor (Varanus cumingi)
The Yellow-Headed Water Monitor Lizard (Varanus cumingi Martin, 1839), also known as the Mindanao Water Monitor, is the only varanid species inhabiting Mindanao. It is a large, muscular lizard, with adult specimens often exceeding 1,5 m (59.05 in) in total length. Its striking yellow-and-black coloration makes it, in the eyes of many, the most beautiful monitor in the Philippines. The intensity of the yellow pigment on the head and dorsal area varies by individual and is largely determined by specific bloodlines.
