The Physical Origin of the Baryon Acoustic Oscillation (BAO) Scale in a Static Optico-Hydrodynamic Vacuum
The Baryon Acoustic Oscillation (BAO) scale is typically interpreted as a relic acoustic horizon imprinted in the cosmic plasma during the early universe. In the Optico-Hydrodynamic Vacuum (OHV) framework, we propose an alternative origin: the BAO scale is a stationary physical property of the contemporary vacuum substrate rather than a relic of primordial expansion. By applying a Jeans-type instability analysis to the viscous vacuum continuum, we derive the critical scale length governed by the single dimensionless viscosity parameter eta = 0.004182 (fixed independently from Pantheon+ supernova data). We demonstrate that the predicted physical scale of lambda_BAO approx 154 Mpc is invariant across all redshifts. This model naturally explains the observed correlations in galaxy distribution without requiring the metric expansion of space or the fine-tuning of primordial acoustic perturbations. The OHV framework provides a coherent, non-expanding alternative to the standard Lambda-CDM cosmology, showing that the BAO scale is a direct manifestation of vacuum structure.
