A GUP-Induced Cubic Momentum Correction in Phase Space as a Possible Explanation for the EDGES Anomaly
In this work, we investigate a potential explanation for the anomalous absorption signal reported by the Experiment to Detect the Global Epoch of Reionization Signature (EDGES). We consider a modified phase-space measure inspired by the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP), characterized by a cubic momentum-dependent factor. We derive the resulting modified photon thermal spectrum and compare it with the EDGES experimental data. Our analysis determines the best-fit parameter for this cubic correction to be [Formula: see text]. Our findings suggest that GUP-induced phase-space modifications provide a plausible and observationally consistent explanation for the observed 21-cm anomaly.
