What a body can do: A post-Bacchae universe of resistance

The presence of the disabled body within the choreographic process is not merely a matter of inclusion; it is a fundamental re-signification of what it means to create and perform. Over the past thirty years, my practice as a dancer, choreographer, and educator has evolved through a deep engagement with people of all ages and backgrounds. However, it is my collaboration with disabled dancers for the last fifteen years that has most profoundly challenged and expanded my thinking.
