Adaptive Hybrid Powertrain (AHP): An Integrated Hardware-Software Series-Hybrid Architecture for Physically Authentic Driver Feedback
This technical note presents the Adaptive Hybrid Powertrain (AHP), a series-hybrid architecture in which the wheels are driven exclusively by electric motors, while an internal combustion engine drives a motor-generator with software-controlled resistive torque. The generator is used not only for energy conversion, but also to create controllable physical engine load, enabling authentic sound, vibration and simulated gear-shift feedback. The document describes the system architecture, adaptive exhaust system, virtual gearbox, active overrun, adaptive engine mounts and software-defined driving modes. The concept is published openly for technical discussion and potential industry implementation.
