Universal Theory of Energy: A Physical Picture Based on Energy Monism
This essay proposes a theoretical framework in which energy is the sole physical reality. Material particles are modeled as self-sustaining closed-loop flow structures of energy, with electric charge reinterpreted as the port orientation of these loops and time as the intrinsic rhythm of energy flow. Gravity emerges as motion along energy-density gradients rather than spacetime curvature, and cosmological redshift is attributed to a slower rhythm of time in the earlier, denser universe—not to the expansion of space. The framework offers alternative perspectives on dark matter (diffuse, non-loop-forming energy), dark energy (rendered unnecessary), and the Hubble tension, while explicitly acknowledging its current lack of a quantitative mathematical foundation. A set of testable predictions is proposed alongside a candid inventory of unresolved issues. The work does not claim to overturn established theories; it aims to provide a self-consistent, monistic physical picture that may inspire further mathematical and experimental investigation.
