Tilted Ruler Theory (TRT): Directional Bias of SH0ES Calibrators and the Hubble Tension — Quantitative Analysis of H₀ Overestimation via f(θ) Luminosity Attenuation and Radial Force Geometry

This study proposes and quantifies the Tilted Ruler Theory (TRT), which posits that directional bias in the SH0ES calibrator sample systematically tilts the measurement ruler, overestimating the Hubble constant. TRT explains a substantial fraction of the Hubble tension (H₀ = 67.4 vs 73.0 km/s/Mpc, 4~6σ discrepancy) without invoking new physics. Two independent mechanisms are quantified. First, 72.7% of SH0ES calibrators (N=77) are concentrated in the θ>90° direction from the GCOD axis (RA=330°), representing 2.2× the cosmological sample rate (33.7%), with extreme statistical significance (p<10⁻¹⁰). Due to the low-z (z<0.01) nature of calibrators, the f(θ) effect operates at maximum strength, leading to distance underestimation and H₀ overestimation. Second, the geometric properties of radial expansion cause direction-dependent apparent recession velocities: perpendicular-direction objects recede faster by Δv = +12,093 km/s than axis-direction objects (p<10⁻⁶, after z-control). Path 1 contribution ΔH₀ = 1.5~3.6 km/s/Mpc explains 27~64% of the Hubble tension (5.68 km/s/Mpc). Path 2 (radial force) serves as independent evidence for the physical reality of the GCOD axis. Pantheon+ Hubble residuals (Δμ=+0.0184 mag, p=0.0295) provide independent support, with Fisher combined significance of 6.4~7.2σ (after LEE/Holm correction). Analysis code is available at: https://github.com/yettumon/TRTv2 (2026.06): Sample counts updated (N=620→665, N=165/296→205/415; core result Δv=+12,093 km/s unchanged), Table 4 group notation unified (θ_min→θ), Table 7 reference corrected (Section 4.7→4.6), Section 3.2 pipeline clarification added.
