Regional Coexistence Model Centered on a Large-Scale Resort Hotel
This paper proposes a regional coexistence model centered on a large-scale resort hotel and examines a new structure of mutual co-creation between local residents and tourism facilities. Using Hotel Sunvalley Nasu as a case study, the research analyzes how local residents, tourists, and accommodation facilities collaboratively create social and cultural value through participatory cultural activities. Rather than understanding tourism through conventional frameworks of consumption, labor, or competition, this study explores tourism as a process of shared experience, community participation, and mutual value creation. The findings suggest that large-scale accommodation facilities can function not only as tourism infrastructure but also as platforms that connect local communities, visitors, and regional cultural resources.
