The genome sequence of Crataegus laevigata DC., 1825 (Rosales: Rosaceae)

<ns5:p> We present a genome assembly of <ns5:italic>Crataegus laevigata</ns5:italic> (Midland Hawthorn; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Rosales; Rosaceae). The genome sequence has a total length of 653.05 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.51%) is scaffolded into 17 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial sequence has a length of 465.79 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 159.83 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns5:p>
